(Note: if you're still wondering why the Hell this is posted here, just read it to the end.)
Not a lot of demons know this, but Wrath was supposed to embody Sathanus, incarnation of wrath in Hell. However, her personality was so strong that it became more of a burden than an asset for the demonic forces. Rare were the ones calling her Sathanus; most would use her more common name: Wrath. However, her real, very own name, was not one that could be pronounced. She eventually didn't become Sathanus anyway, so that could have hardly been how she was really called.
No. Her real name was made of thoughts and emotions that are not describable. No one really knew what it was exactly, as she never accepted to share this very personal definition of herself with anyone ("No one has the right to penetrate my mind."). But it was common for other demons to communicate between themselves using their own mix of sensations.
Most of the time, Wrath was a fighter. Above anything, she liked slaying Angels and, when possible, Archangels (she hadn't the chance to meet a Heavenly entity of a higher rank). She had known defeats, obviously, but it had been ages she had not experienced one, and even her name was mentioned sometimes in the Heavens as she was taking down more and more of her enemies.
Her exploits allowed her to receive recognition from the Demonic Hell Council and be given the rank of Duchess of Anhetas, a sizeable land in Hell where she reigned with an iron hand. It wasn't the favorite place where demons would go, but it was still attracting some of the most radical of them. Wrath had her lair there, with piles of treasures gathered from her fights.
The Demonic Hell Council
Composed of the most powerful demons and rulers of Hell, all Master Lords of Hell included, the council rules over all demons and makes sure that the chaos reigning in there is more beneficial to their ultimate goal than not: ending the battle against the Heavens by destroying it. There decisions are respected by all, mainly because any protest would be mercilessly crushed under their overwhelming power. The confrontation
Wrath was a cruel demoness that let her anger and passion led her actions, and since she had a very strong personality, she tended to have few friends, if not any, that could really cope with her mood swings. While she was calm and focused most of the time, the next moment she could be yelling her disgust for another of her kind, or even all of them.
In the society of demons, it was not uncommon to have demons (and demonesses) that behaved as such. But Wrath was probably the most intense, and thus the worst, in the matter. She could barely follow any directions, so most of the time she could only count on herself, and her only; which is why she became extremely strong and powerful, as she had no choice. Her life would have otherwise ended much sooner. Days after days, months after months, decades after decades, she thus growingly became hated by most of her kind, at a point where they decided to make sure she would not see another day. The fact she decided to get rid of the son of one of the Master Lord of Hell, Moloch, in cold blood, probably helped though.
But she was so damn powerful that no one could see a solution on how to defeat her. Her abilities became every day more and more unstoppable, at a point where the Demonic Hell Council started to be concerned. Knowing they would probably be unable to reason with wrath itself, and being already busy with a large scale attack on the Heavens, they looked for a quick way to fix the problem.
And this is where Moloch brought the idea of using the recent (in demonic time scale) portal opened by an unknown entity, called the Persephone, to another world where Wrath could wander as much as she wanted without disrupting anything... at least in Hell. Moloch, deeply hurt by the loss of his son, also proposed to get rid of her ability to teleport back to her home, a skill that was usually granted to any demon above a certain rank. This was not a simple process, and required another sacrifice of a powerful entity to nullify the skill. "Thankfully", the current war with Heavens brought multiple occasions to put the hands on such entities, and even if they were strongly preferred to be used for the creation of powerful artifacts or spells, the Demonic Hell Council almost immediately gave their agreement to proceed — they already had a war to win, they could not suffer another one amongst their own army.
So the process began. Luring Wrath into a false fight was easy, even if it was usually not a good idea as her revenge would come back to your face a thousand times more destructive. But here, she would not be able to come back, so they didn't hesitate to involve a person from the Council. The plan was terribly simple: Lord Moloch would announce the immediate withdrawal of all of Wrath's lands, army and rights as a retaliation to the demoness recent killing, which would surprise no one (the Lord was known to easily profane lands when he wanted to). Moloch would go to Anhetas to reclaim the land while Wrath was away and would cast a portal to the Persephone that would suck in all of Wrath's possessions. He would also challenge the demoness to annihilate it and try to save her belongings. But he would make sure to trap the portal so that she would be imprisoned by it as soon as she would come close to it.
It almost went this way. Moloch didn't really expect Wrath to appear so quickly after he did the announcement, even if, thankfully, the portal was already summoned and was starting to suck in the land below it. The demoness plunged, horrified, directly at the portal. The trap worked. Purple tentacles spit out of it and grabbed her body firmly. She let a terrorizing roar out.
"You tricked me, Moloch!", she yelled, finally seeing the Lord hovering not far from her.
"That was easier than I thought", he replied with a grin.
The Lord approached the immobilized demoness as she was being pulled into the portal.
"You should have never attacked my family. You are now finally banned from your home, and I'm taking your ability to teleport back here away from you."
"You cannot do that!!!" shouted the demoness, hopelessly trying to escape.
"I sure can."
Moloch revealed an artifact glowing with white sparkles. It was floating a few inches over his right hand. He made sure not to touch it directly.
"YOU SHALL NEVER COME BACK HERE!"
He moved quickly forward towards the demoness, the artifact floating in front of him. 100 feet... 50 feet... 20 feet... As soon as it touched her, a huge ball of energy emerged from it, enveloping the winged creature as she yelled in pain. Moloch was observing her, a devilish look on his face, enjoying the view of her body moving under the inflicted torture.
"Disappear from our world, Sathanus."
"You shall disappear with me!"
The demoness was almost completely absorbed into the portal, and Moloch didn't understand what she was saying until he felt a deep pain in his chest. A spear was planted in it, seemingly coming from nowhere.
"How... ?"
"Your were tricked by your own trap", she replied in a faded voice, as some objects were flying around her, pulled into the portal. "You didn't see me grab this at the moment of the explosion?"
She was looking at the spear. Moloch looked back at her, confused.
"How could you do this?"
Wrath did not reply, as the demon's body started to shiver and decompose under the effect of the blessed weapon — one that Wrath looted on an Archangel during a battle.
"This is what happens to my enemies."
She grinned, then disappeared in the portal.
